I've figured out what kind of a job I could live with - if any of you know of such a vacancy, let me know:
My office would be a penthouse suite in a marble mansion. (Facebrick would do.) I get to live in the rest of the house. My job is "research". Anything and everything of any interest to anyone. My bank of computers searches the internet ceaselessly and automatically, once I tell them what to look for. Weather patterns, economic boom areas, economic poverty areas, populations, cultures, inoperative fertile regions for agriculture, small towns just awaiting opportunities to boom, and so on. While the computers are doing all that, I use Google Earth to see what it all looks like. At least once a year, I get to do a trip abroad to visit some of the places and people we've identified. Of, course, the computers also compile reports and proposals to suitable businesses, investors and sponsors who would use this information to make this world a better-functioning place.
Of course, I'll need a few company vehicles. A Jeep Wrangler to explore the regions, (well, for me to play in), a suitable, classy vehicle to make an impression on investors, and, of course, a luxury SUV to cart the kids around in. I'll need a butler and sufficient household staff to keep up the standard of the residence, a P.A. to help me in the mornings and my daughter in the afternoons when she gets back from school - and to accompany us on our overseas trips - and a suitable expense account. I don't need much of a salary.
If you have just turned down such a position - or left one like it for a better job - do let me know. My e-mail "contact me" link is on the top right of the page - or just click here!
